Clifftop views made better with a louvre

Situated on the East Coast of Bay of Plenty, on a cliff above the water, Judy and Mike knew they had a challenge ahead of them finding a louvre that would stand up to the ocean weather.  

“We looked at a lot of different packages, but we felt a Johnson & Couzins SkyLouvre Silencio was the answer.” 

Wanting to make their outdoor space extend over summer and beyond, the Monks thought carefully about how they wanted the end product to look and feel.  

“We knew it had to be more flexible than a standard shelter. We wanted to be able to open the roof to let the sun and light in, but also able to keep the area dry when needed. With guidance from Sam from J&C we decided on a SkyLouvre, and we’re delighted that we did.”  

And one of the best decisions? To fit a rain sensor on their SkyLouvre, which automatically closes the fins at the first sign of rain. 

“The rain sensor is great. If we go out for the day we open up the roof to let the light in, but we rest assured knowing if it starts to drizzle, the fins will close. 

“When the gusts come through, we open up the roof and switch off the rain sensor. Up until now the J&C SkyLouvre has handled everything that’s been thrown at it and that’s impressive considering our challenging site! 

Excited to entertain friends and family whatever the weather, Judy and Mike say they’ve received many compliments about their louvre. They’ve even built a timber wall on one end to make the space an outdoor ‘room’.  

“Visitors are always telling us what a fabulous space it is and we have no problem telling them it’s down to the J&C SkyLouvre. The product is excellent, the communication was great from enquiry to installation, and the workmanship is top notch. It’s fair to say we’re very happy customers.”
